There are many ways for you to promote your page on Facebook; one way is the “Tell your Fans” button on the Marketing Tab of your Page Manager. You can import your email contacts and invite them to your Fan Page but be careful, choose your invitations wisely because sometimes it will be considered as a Spam by others.

Here’s how you use the Email Importer;

  1. Go to your Fan Page; make sure you are logged in.
  2. Click on the Edit Page which is underneath your image.
  3. Find the MARKETING button which is on the left column and click it.
  4. Then, click on the “Tell your Fans” button, after you click it, they will give you 2 options on how to import your email contacts;
  • Upload a Contact File (Outlook and other email platforms) – Facebook will then start uploading your email contacts on the email platform you have provided.
  • Find your Web Email Contacts (Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and Hotmail) – it is the fastest and easiest way to find Fans.

    I hope is this comming Wednesday and not last since it does not give the date

    The problem with this is the notifications for page suggestions are practically invisible. We imported nearly 40,000 emails into Facebook (There’s a max limit of 5,000 per import so you have to split up your list) and we barely saw any results from it. In theory it’s a great idea but I don’t know how well it actually works… Any body else have any experience with this?

      Michael, we had the same issue. Our fan page for weightlosswars has 48,800 fans, but most of our fans have come from working very hard to get our current fans to suggest to their friends.

      We would often put in tags like this: 30 day weight loss challenge

      And when we do that, we’ll get them to choose between coming to our website, and coming to our fan page which is found here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/weightlosswars/343870350263

    Assuming that your database is a clean 40,000, I would have also emailed them an invite to th group. Make sure your group is up and running first and has some substance to it, and maybe even some kind of offer that your members can take advantage of. I work in music, so usually a free track helps get people in there.

    I agree with Jeff and Jason. Because the notification is hidden for the invite, it is hard for people to actually see it. Best best is what Jason suggests, email the group from your own email account, make them an offer, or what we did is to deliver some survey results through our facebook page. Its easier if you have a good relationship with your list.

    Brian,

    I appreciate these suggestions that you make available on an on-going basis. I know that some will always out-perform other, but it’s the continual experimenting that allows us to try new suggestions until we hit on that one magic-button that seems to fit our particular situation.

    Keep them coming, and thanks for your hard work!

    I saw this before, even tried it, but didn’t work. I connected with gmail and imported CSV file, but nothing. Any ideas?

    Will it be leading to getting banned?

  • http://www.goodparentschildrenanddivorce.com Darren

    Thanks the info is good.. the new facebook has now lost the ‘marketing’ link and yet the ‘tell your friends’ link can be found at ‘resources’

    There seems to be a lot of time and resources put into getting
    a high number of Fans to one’s page but is it really getting anyone closing to making more sales and putting money in the bank?

    Although I think having a Fan page is a good backup to one’s other marketing efforts it is by no means should be the sole
    effort. Do you agree or disagree with this?

    Exactly Phil!

    FB is a great compliment: however, not designed to be the main course.

    Nice tip. I will try it out today. Thanks.

    This tip is really helpful and will go and do this to bring more fans to my page. All the tips that you have given has improved my page, Thanks!
